It is with great sadness that we have just learned the death of Father Paul Sylvester, OFM, in Jerusalem at the age of 84 after 66 years of religious life and 57 years of priesthood. Father Sylvestre was employed by the Custody of the Holy Land since 1994. It was a most devoted missionary of the Holy Land, making invaluable services, including the editorial "The Holy Land" for many years. His funeral will take place tomorrow, December 17, 2010 in Jerusalem. A memorial mass will be celebrated in Quebec in January 2011. We will give you more news soon. Pray for the repose of his soul.
