Three students differ in Photography at the local final

Matane, Friday, February 18, 2011 - In an official ceremony held on February 9 at the Crowne Plaza - Lord Beaverbrook in Fredericton, the organizing committee of the Bridgestone Photo Contest has announced the winners of the 2010 edition.

Three II college students pursuing their studies in Photography at the Cégep de Matane distinguished themselves in the finals held at the local college. Maxime Lainesse Matane won first prize, a scholarship of $ 1 500, Francois-Xavier Pellerin of Saint-Benoit-Labre won the second prize, a $ 1,000 scholarship, and Julie Audet Houde-Saint-Germain -de-Kamouraska won the third prize, a $ 500 scholarship. The first prize winner was also involved in the national final.

Karen Borle College of Art and Design Alberta won the Award includes a grant of $ 2 000, in addition to the award of $ 1 500 obtained for first place at the local finals held in his school, and a new Nikon D90 with Nikkor offered by Nikon Canada.

The jury also unanimously awarded the prize "blow of heart" and a grant of $ 1 000 Jennifer Pattison College of Craft and Design New Brunswick.

The judges awarded the title of laureate at the community college institution of Nova Scotia for the quality of all pictures taken by its students. Bridgestone Canada will donate $ 3,000 to be used to enhance the college program and acquire new equipment.

For this 2010 edition of the contest, 285 students from 11 schools in Canada have sent photo 471 images. Two Quebec's educational institutions participating in the competition or Dawson College Cégep de Matane.

Since the first participation of the Cégep de Matane in this competition in 2005, three finalists of its students have won top honors. Sacha Wewiorska won the Award of Excellence during the 2006 Martin Gros imitated in 2007 when Elise Bouchard received the Honorable Mention in 2008.
